July 26, 2026
Learn how state and community partners in Colorado are working alongside families to strengthen care, build the early childhood workforce, and ensure families help shape services for young children.
Still from a Colorado video story, featuring a woman holding a toddler girl. Accompanying text reads, "Family leaders help shape early childhood services to better reach their needs."

Families in the San Luis Valley, a rural region in southwestern Colorado, often face obstacles accessing early childhood services. In this video, state, community, and family partners share how they are working together to improve care coordination, expand HealthySteps, build the workforce, and ensure family co-design. Their efforts are helping create more connected services that empower families and give young children the opportunity to grow and thrive.

This work means that families will be treated in the way they need to be treated … in a way that they feel empowered and heard and seen in a way that maybe they haven’t been in healthcare before.
