New AAP PediaLink Course Available – Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health: Relational Foundations for Lifelong Health

The American Academy of Pediatrics’ new education course is for health providers to learn and apply a relational health framework to promote and support infant and early childhood mental health.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recently launched a new PediaLink education course: Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health: Relational Foundations for Lifelong Health. The first 1,000 users can access the course for free using the code SAVE5; the course requires the creation or use of a free AAP.org log-in to access the learning platform.

This education course is intended for pediatricians, family medicine providers, and their teams to learn and apply infant and early childhood mental health principles to promote, prevent risks, and support healthy early childhood development. The course is organized into five modules:

  1. Introduction to Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health
  2. Attuned Interactions
  3. Promoting and Preventing Risks to Social-Emotional Development
  4. Intervening When a Developmental Concern Is Identified
  5. Building an Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health-Informed Practice
