The new federal guidance will help ensure that children enrolled in Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) have better access to comprehensive health care services. \n\n\n\n\nWith nearly half of all children in the U.S. enrolled in Medicaid or CHIP\, the programs play a vital role in promoting child health. EPSDT is designed to ensure that children and youth can access the health care they need\, when they need it\, in the most appropriate setting. However\, variability in state implementation of Medicaid’s EPSDT requirements has meant that children aren’t always receiving the care and services they need. \n\n\n\nIn this one-hour virtual event\, Dan Tsai\, Deputy Administrator and Director of the Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services\, and Kate Ginnis\, Senior Policy Advisor for Children and Youth\, will join leaders from AAP\, CHA\, and AACAP to give an overview of the guidance and for a question-and-answer session. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nAttend this Zoom virtual town tall to learn more about the new guidance on Medicaid’s EPSDT requirement and how pediatricians\, child and adolescent psychiatrists\, and other child health providers and organizations can ensure children have timely access to needed care. \n\n\n\nYou can submit questions in advance on the registration page. If you have any questions about this town hall\, please contact kids1st@aap.org.
